Check-in
How do we get to Skagenhaugen?
It is easiest to drive, the road goes all the way forward, and there is free parking on the property.
If you are travelling without a car, there is a bus to Bø city centre (5 minutes away), from where you can take a taxi or arrange a pick-up.
The nearest airport is in Evenes which is about 2.5 hours away.
How to check in?
Check-in is from 15:00. You will receive your personal door code by email in advance of your stay. It's digital key solution, so you can arrive any time you want after 3pm.
Do you meet the host at check-in?
No, but the host is always available digitally if you need help. If necessary, we can also come to the place.
What awaits us upon arrival?
A clean house with raised beds and towels on the beds. In the living room is the house manual, wifi password and our best tips for activities.
You can also order:
— Welcome package (non-alcoholic sparkling drinks, mineral water, snacks)
— Ready-made refrigerator
When is check-out, and what do we need to do before departure?
Check-out is no later than 11 a.m. Please tidy lightly and return things to their places, indoors and out.
Remove bed linen, place it in the laundry room and start the first wash. Empty the fridge, take out the rubbish, close windows, and lock the doors.


The place &
facilities
Do we have the whole place to ourselves?
Yes. When you rent the Main House, you have full access to the entire outdoor area. The annex can only be booked together with the Main House.
The Sea Cabin is just a short walk away and can be rented separately. If you’d like both, you can rent the entire property together.
What kind of bedding is it?
White Pure crepe bedding from Høie of Scandinavia — 100% cotton, cool in summer and warm in winter.
The Pure line is so clean that it is recommended by Asthma Allergy Nordic.
Does it cost extra to use SUP boards, bicycles or the Petanque court?
No, it's included for our guests.
Does it cost extra to use the hot tub?
Only for firewood — NOK 600 per use, paid afterwards.
How many people can sit around the dining table in the Main House?
Ten guests sit comfortably. Twelve works fine, but it’s a little snug.
For larger groups, we recommend renting the Gathering Hall in the annex

Is there a coffee maker and kettle?
Of course.
– The Main House and Gathering Room: Moccamaster (filter coffee)
– The Sea Cabin: French press
– Kettle in every building
Which basic ingredients are available in the kitchen?
Oil, salt, pepper, and usually a few extras like spices, tea, and honey.
Is there a wine and spirits shop nearby?
Yes. A small Vinmonopolet is located in Bø (five minutes away, open Thursday to Saturday).
For a larger selection and daily opening hours, stop by Sortland — it’s on the way.
Is there a bakery nearby?
Not in Bø, but Microbakeriet in Sortland is well worth a detour.
Is there a grocery store in Bø?
Yes. A well-stocked SPAR supermarket is only five minutes away.

Which soaps and amenities are provided?
We use RÅ Organic Skincare. Norwegian-made, sustainable, and allergy-friendly products.
Hand & Body Wash, Shampoo and Conditioner — all vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated for sensitive skin.
Are towels provided for the hot tub or beach?
One towel per guest is included. You can wash it after use in the tamper. Bring your own beach towels.
Is there children's equipment there?
Yes, travel cot with duvet, pillow and linen, as well as two highchairs with a tray.
Is it possible to sleep more people in the attic?
Yes, for an additional fee. We have two extra mattresses and a travel cot (190 cm long).

activities
Is there a sandy beach nearby?
Yes! Several wonderful beaches are just five minutes from Skagenhaugen.
How warm is the water?
The sea temperature varies throughout the year. Around 3–5°C in winter and 12–15°C in late summer.
How far away are the mountain hikes?
Our favourites are between 5 and 15 minutes’ drive from the trailheads.

What should we pack?
The weather changes quickly, even in summer!
We recommend:
— Wool or fleece underwear
— Windproof/water resistant jacket and trousers
— Comfortable hiking shoes or boots
— Hat, gloves and scarf
— Sunglasses and sunscreen
— A small backpack, thermos and seat pad
— Swimwear
Is there wifi and mobile coverage in Skagenhaugen?
Yep. There is free wifi and the coverage is fast and stable.
That beig said, we encourage you to put the screen aside now and then. The light, silence, and nature here are best experienced undisturbed.
